Rosamund McNeil is the Assistant Secretary General, Social Justice and Equality of the National Education Union (‘NEU’).
The NEU is a union which brings together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in independent and maintained schools and colleges across the UK.
The NEU wants to empower its members to make education a great place to work and a great place to teach; and crucially a great place to learn, with a broad curriculum to motivate children, young people and adults, allowing them to develop their interests and skills for the future.
Previous to this post, Rosamund was the Head of Education & Equality at the National Union of Teachers for five years; and also worked as the NUT Senior Policy Officer for women and girls’ rights. Ros is passionate about tackling sexism and gender inequality and about changing education and society so that racism, inequality and discrimination weaken their grip on children and young people’s lives.
Rosamund is a qualified solicitor and worked in commercial practice before taking up policy roles. Rosamund lives in North London and is mother to one young son.
